Please join us on Tuesday, September 4th as our encourager Yamile Luna shares with us about the Power to Lead so that others might flourish. She will be focusing on how God’s willingness to give us immeasurably as we lead in His image.
Yamile serves as a Vice President in Human Resources for Florida Hospital and has worked within this healthcare system for 30+ years. Her passion is to lead and mentor, engage teams to excel in their performance, lovingly serve the community and leave a deeply rooted legacy for those who come behind her. She has served in multiple leadership capacities and attributes all her success to her Heavenly Father. She is a servant-leader who loves to help others, demonstrated by her service on multiple community boards over the years.
Yamile is the proud mother of two children, Alyssa (21) who attends Adventist University at Florida Hospital and Maxi Kael (17) who attends Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, FL. After dating her childhood sweetheart, Maxi, for 10 years, they were married at the Forest Lake SDA Church and have been together for 36 years.
In addition to her professional and personal accomplishments, Yamile is most recently known for her very transparent 5 ½ year journey and intense battle with Breast Cancer.
She believes that if God has allowed her to go through this valley of sickness, there is a purpose and despite the pain, she wants to share God's goodness with others. Her story will provide you with hope, courage and strength while encouraging you to embrace life's challenges like the Christian warrior you can be.
She loves to share her heroic personal story comprised of the power of prayer, God's faithfulness, his fierce love for us and her courage to battle this devastating sickness despite the odds. As a wife, mother, daughter, friend and executive it has taken every ounce of resilience and persistence to balance life's obstacles and still emerge as a champion for God. She deeply believes that if she can do it, no matter what you're going through, God will help you ‘be strong and courageous’ through it too!
