At our March 7th Forum, we heard Dr. Falecia Williams, President of Valencia College West share about "Love in Action". Falecia openend with one of her favorite quotes from Author, Elie Wiesel, “The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.”
We can choose a path of indifference or we can choose a path of action. We are all called to love if we are followers of Christ. Falecia learned at a very young age the power of Christ. She grew up living in public housing. It was there she learned the importance of community and the need for collaboration - to work together for a greater goal. This is something she implements daily in her position at Valencia College, especially as they work on the new downtown campus plan with UCF.
We can do so much more when we are not trying to do it alone. Core value are important for everyone on your team to embrace. We have to remember to be selfless and have a sense of commonality and respect.
"We are the greatest beneficiaries of love and therefore we need to share it!"
